enews April 3, 2026
Clouds are darkening
the breeze a foreboding wind
much as the warnings Jesus keeps repeating.
He feels it in his bones,
written into creases of His face
Something ominous, something
He sees with eyes we do not have.
So strange to journey steadily towards
suffering and death and call it Passion.
To walk with Jesus into events
whose outcome we already know
yet somehow to remain alongside
the One who desires, beyond all reason,
Our company, our friendship.
We’d rather skip the hard parts:
betrayals, abandonment, pain upon pain
seize Easter joy now, since its arrival is certain.
But friendship requires patient, presence
in the valley of shadows no less
than Easter sunrises.
So help us, man of sorrows,
to be with you in Yours.
Keep us awake when we
willing-spirit but weak-fleshed,
race ahead to the happy ending.
May our searching eyes
find Yours
and refuse to
look away.
- Richard Gothard (guest speaking at GraceWay July 5th)

Easter At GraceWay
Invite your neighbors to Easter at GraceWay!
We will be celebrating Jesus' resurrection with special music and a guest ballet performance by our local artists, Anastasis. Their Christ-honoring expression of worship is whimsical and compelling, so don't miss out.
It is our birthday!
Did you know that GraceWay Church turns 150 this year? The first meeting of Pleasanton Presbyterian church (now GraceWay) was just 11 people on August 11, 1876, and we want to celebrate!
If you have ideas, or you just love the church, join our Birthday Committee by May 1 to find out how we can honor God and our history for all that He has done through this church over the years.
Baptism
If you have given your heart to Jesus and are ready to take the next step, fill out the form to learn more and mark your faith with baptism.
2026 VBS Illumination Station
2026 VBS Illumination Station | July 13-17, 8:45am-12pm
Calling all volunteers to lead kids in answering the question Jesus asked his disciples, "Who do you say that I am?". Through games, crafts, music, snacks and Bible stories, kids will discover that Jesus is the light of the world!
Come share your gifts at VBS this summer! Open volunteer roles include leaders for Crafts, Snacks, Worship and Games. Teen Leaders (rising 7th graders-12th graders) are all invited to make VBS a wonderful experience for every child that attends.
We love adult and teen volunteers who love to point kids to Jesus! If you are available to serve, sign up at gracewaylife.org/vbs
Registration is still open for kids 3 years old (and potty-trained) thru rising 6th graders, but spaces are filling up quickly. The preschool class is almost full. Sign up NOW at gracewaylife.org/vbs
